Instrumenta App
A cultural index of independent music in Latin America
We index scenes, not celebrities. Infrastructure, not hype. Relations, not metrics.
Instrumenta indexes bands, venues, record shops, labels, fanzines, radio stations, and festivals — the material and symbolic network that sustains independent music in cities across the continent. It is not streaming, not a social network, not a promotional platform. It is a public cultural index: part living archive, part observatory, part research tool.

How to participate
Instrumenta is built by the community. Any active cultural agent in Latin America can register entities: their label, band, venue, record shop, festival, or fanzine.
Create an account in the app and start documenting your city’s scene.
Instrumenta exclusively maps independent music in Latin America. Entities identified outside this scope will be removed.
About
Instrumenta emerges from academic research on cultural ecosystems and creative economies. After mapping Portuguese independent labels between 1982 and 2017, now the project has its focus on Latin America.
